2009-04-01drm/i915: clean up udelay usageArjan van de Ven1-1/+1
udelay() of 20 milliseconds really ought to just use mdelay(), that avoids the various wrap scenarios and also is more readable Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net>
2009-03-27agp/intel: Add support for new intel chipset.Shaohua Li1-17/+96

2009-03-27drm/i915: Read the right SDVO register when detecting SVDO/HDMI.Kristian Høgsberg1-1/+9
This fixes incorrect detection of the second SDVO/HDMI output on G4X, and extra boot time on pre-G4X. Signed-off-by: Kristian Høgsberg <krh@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net>
2009-03-27drm/i915: Use a different PLL timing search function on G4X.Ma Ling1-12/+88
This improves the PLL timings according to the suggestion of the hardware engineers. This results in some outputs being able to sync that weren't able to before. This is part of fixing fd.o bug #17508. Signed-off-by: Ma Ling <ling.ma@intel.com> [anholt: cleaned up a couple of redundant comments] Signed-off-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net>
2009-03-27drm/i915: Use documented PLL timing limits for G4X platformMa Ling1-1/+186
The values come from the internal reference spreadsheet on PLL timing limits for the G4X chipsets. Part of fixing fd.o bug #17508 Signed-off-by: Ma Ling <ling.ma@intel.com> [anholt: Cleaned up some whitespace] Signed-off-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net>
2009-02-25drm/i915: remove PLL debugging messagesJesse Barnes1-1/+1
These are normal; we walk through different values looking for the right one, so why flood the screen with messages? Signed-off-by: Jesse Barnes <jbarnes@virtuousgeek.org> Reviewed-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>

there might be a nicer way to fix this but this is the simplest for now. Signed-off-by: Pierre Willenbrock <pierre@pirsoft.de> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2009-02-20drm/i915: take struct mutex around fb unrefJesse Barnes1-0/+2

2009-02-20drm: Propagate failure from setting crtc base.Chris Wilson1-31/+53
Check the error paths within intel_pipe_set_base() to first cleanup and then report back the error. Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2009-02-20drm/i915: Set framebuffer alignment based upon the fence constraints.Chris Wilson1-4/+2
Set the request alignment to 0, and leave it up to i915_gem_object_pin() to set the appropriate alignment to match the fence covering the object. Eric Anholt mentioned that the pinning code is meant to choose the maximum of the request alignment and that of the fence covering the object... However currently, the pinning code will only apply the fence constraints if the supplied alignment is 0. 2009-02-08drm/i915: sync SDVO code with stable userland modesetting driverJesse Barnes1-0/+2
Pull in an update from the 2D driver (hopefully the last one, future work should be done here and pulled back into xf86-video-intel as needed). Signed-off-by: Jesse Barnes <jbarnes@virtuousgeek.org> Signed-off-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2009-02-08drm/i915: Skip SDVO/HDMI init when the chipset tells us it's not present.Eric Anholt1-7/+11
This saves startup time from probing SDVO, and saves setting up HDMI outputs on G4X devices that don't have them. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2009-01-16drm/i915: lock correct mutex around object unreference.Dave Airlie1-6/+11
This makes sure the mutex is held around the unreference. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2009-01-16drm/i915: add support for physical memory objectsDave Airlie1-11/+21
This is an initial patch to do support for objects which needs physical contiguous main ram, cursors and overlay registers on older chipsets. These objects are bound on cursor bin, like pinning, and we copy the data to/from the backing store object into the real one on attach/detach. notes: possible over the top in attach/detach operations. no overlay support yet. 2008-12-29drm: pin new and unpin old buffer when setting a mode.Kristian Høgsberg1-8/+36

2008-12-29drm: drop DRM_IOCTL_MODE_REPLACEFB, add+remove works just as well.Kristian Hgsberg1-31/+0
The replace fb ioctl replaces the backing buffer object for a modesetting framebuffer object. This can be acheived by just creating a new framebuffer backed by the new buffer object, setting that for the crtcs in question and then removing the old framebuffer object. 2008-12-29DRM: i915: add mode setting supportJesse Barnes1-0/+1621
This commit adds i915 driver support for the DRM mode setting APIs. Currently, VGA, LVDS, SDVO DVI & VGA, TV and DVO LVDS outputs are supported. HDMI, DisplayPort and additional SDVO output support will follow. Support for the mode setting code is controlled by the new 'modeset' module option. A new config option, CONFIG_DRM_I915_KMS controls the default behavior, and whether a PCI ID list is built into the module for use by user level module utilities. Note that if mode setting is enabled, user level drivers that access display registers directly or that don't use the kernel graphics memory manager will likely corrupt kernel graphics memory, disrupt output configuration (possibly leading to hangs and/or blank displays), and prevent panic/oops messages from appearing. So use caution when enabling this code; be sure your user level code supports the new interfaces. A new SysRq key, 'g', provides emergency support for switching back to the kernel's framebuffer console; which is useful for testing.
