2008-07-23V4L/DVB (8427): videodev: split off the ioctl handling into v4l2-ioctl.cHans Verkuil1-0/+2
videodev.c became top-heavy so all the ioctl processing has been split off into v4l2-ioctl.c. This means videodev.c is back to its original purpose: creating and registering v4l devices. Since videodev.c and v4l2-ioctl.c should still remain one module (as least for now) I also had to rename videodev.c to v4l2-dev.c to prevent a circular dependency when building a videodev.ko module. This is not a bad thing, since the source and header now have the same name. And the v4l2- prefix is useful to see which sources are generic v4l2 support code. 2008-07-20V4L/DVB (8343): soc_camera_platform: Add SoC Camera Platform driverMagnus Damm1-0/+1
This patch adds a simple platform camera device. Useful for testing cameras with SoC camera host drivers. Only one single pixel format and resolution combination is supported. Signed-off-by: Magnus Damm <damm@igel.co.jp> Signed-off-by: Guennadi Liakhovetski <g.liakhovetski@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2008-07-20V4L/DVB (8342): sh_mobile_ceu_camera: Add SuperH Mobile CEU driver V3Magnus Damm1-0/+1
This is V3 of the SuperH Mobile CEU soc_camera driver. The CEU hardware block is configured in a transparent data fetch mode, frames are captured from the attached camera and written to physically contiguous memory buffers provided by the newly added videobuf-dma-contig queue. Tested on sh7722 and sh7723 processors. Changes since V2: - remove SUPERH Kconfig dependency - move sh_mobile_ceu.h to include/media - add board callback support with enable_camera()/disable_camera() - add support for declare_coherent_memory - rework video memory limit - more verbose error messages Changes since V1: - fixed the CEU driver to work with the newly updated patches Signed-off-by: Magnus Damm <damm@igel.co.jp> Signed-off-by: Guennadi Liakhovetski <g.liakhovetski@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2008-07-20V4L/DVB (8341): videobuf: Add physically contiguous queue code V3Magnus Damm1-0/+1
This is V3 of the physically contiguous videobuf queues patch. Useful for hardware such as the SuperH Mobile CEU which doesn't support scatter gatter bus mastering. Since it may be difficult to allocate large chunks of physically contiguous memory after some uptime due to fragmentation, this code allocates memory using dma_alloc_coherent(). Architectures supporting dma_declare_coherent_memory() can easily avoid fragmentation issues by using dma_declare_coherent_memory() to force dma_alloc_coherent() to allocate from a certain pre-allocated memory area. Changes since V2 - use dma_handle for physical address - use "scatter gather" instead of "scatter gatter" Changes since V1: - use dev_err() instead of pr_err() - remember size in struct videobuf_dma_contig_memory - keep struct videobuf_dma_contig_memory in .c file - let videobuf_to_dma_contig() return dma_addr_t - implement __videobuf_sync() - return statements, white space and other minor fixes Signed-off-by: Magnus Damm <damm@igel.co.jp> Signed-off-by: Guennadi Liakhovetski <g.liakhovetski@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>

2008-04-29V4L/DVB(7767): Move tuners to common/tunersMauro Carvalho Chehab1-10/+1
There were several issues in the past, caused by the hybrid tuner design, since now, the same tuner can be used by drivers/media/dvb and drivers/media/video. Kconfig items were rearranged, to split V4L/DVB core from their drivers. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>

2008-04-24V4L/DVB (7578a): V4L: V4L2 soc_camera driver for PXA270Guennadi Liakhovetski1-0/+1
This patch adds a driver for the Quick Capture Interface on the PXA270. It is based on the original driver from Intel, but has been re-worked multiple times since then, now it also supports the V4L2 API. This patch depends on a complementary patch, submitted to the ARM tree, providing PXA270 camera platform bindings. 2008-04-24V4L/DVB (7170): soc_camera V4L2 driver for directly-connected SoC-based camerasGuennadi Liakhovetski1-0/+2
This driver provides an interface between platform-specific camera busses and camera devices. It should be used if the camera is connected not over a "proper" bus like PCI or USB, but over a special bus, like, for example, the Quick Capture interface on PXA270 SoCs. Later it should also be used for i.MX31 SoCs from Freescale. It can handle multiple cameras and / or multiple busses, which can be used, e.g., in stereo-vision applications. 2008-04-24V4L/DVB (7125): tuner: build tuner-types independently of tuner-coreMichael Krufky1-1/+2
tuner-types is needed for tuner-simple, and does not need to be bound to tuner-core. Any caller of tuner-simple, including tuner-core, needs to pass a structure from tuner-types into tuner-simple at attach-time. Export the two needed symbols from tuner-types for now, so that card-level drivers can attach tuner-simple for hybrid dvb_frontend devices. We will remove this dependency altogether as tuner refactoring phase 3 progresses. Signed-off-by: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>

2007-10-09V4L/DVB (6254): Add videobuf-vmallocMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+1
Adds a newer videobuf-vmalloc module. This module uses the same videobuf controls, but implements memory allocation based on vmalloc methods. With this method, an USB driver can use video-buf, without needing to request memory from the DMA-safe area. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2007-10-09V4L/DVB (6252): Adapt drivers to use the newer videobuf modulesMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+2
PCI-dependent videobuf_foo methods were renamed as videobuf_pci_foo. Also, videobuf_dmabuf is now part of videobuf-dma-sg private struct. So, to access it, a subroutine call is needed. This patch renames all occurences of those function calls to be consistent with the video-buf split. 2007-02-21V4L/DVB (5166): Remove obsolete alias defines of CONFIG_* settingsTrent Piepho1-1/+0
The out of tree v4l-dvb build system didn't always override the kernel's configuration settings with v4l-dvb's settings correctly. To work around this, makefiles would define some new macro based on the setting of a config variable. e.g. the pwc Makefile would define CONFIG_PWC_DEBUG if CONFIG_USB_PWC_DEBUG (which is defined via Kconfig) was set. The v4l-dvb build system should now always override correctly, and this is no longer necessary. This patch gets ride of these extra defines and just uses the CONFIG_* settings directly.
