2011-07-27[media] marvell-cam: Move cafe-ccic into its own directoryJonathan Corbet1-2267/+0
This driver will soon become a family of drivers, so let's give it its own place to live. This move requires putting ov7670.h into include/media, but there are no code changes. 2011-01-19[media] v4l2-subdev: remove core.s_config and v4l2_i2c_new_subdev_cfg()Hans Verkuil1-3/+8
The core.s_config op was meant for legacy drivers that needed to work with old pre-2.6.26 kernels. This is no longer relevant. Unfortunately, this op was incorrectly called from several drivers. Replace those occurences with proper i2c_board_info structs and call v4l2_i2c_new_subdev_board. After these changes v4l2_i2c_new_subdev_cfg() was no longer used, so remove that function as well. 2010-12-29[media] cafe_ccic: fix colorspace corruption on resumeDaniel Drake1-3/+2
If you suspend and resume during video capture, the video colours are corrupted on resume. This is because the sensor is being unconditionally powered off during the resume path. Only power down during resume if the camera is not in use, and correctly reconfigure the sensor during resume. 2010-03-30include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking ↵Tejun Heo1-0/+1
implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies. percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is used as the basis of conversion. http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py The script does the followings. * Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used, gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h. * When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered - alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there doesn't seem to be any matching order. * If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the file. The conversion was done in the following steps. 1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400 files. 2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion, some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added inclusions to around 150 files. 3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits from #2 to make sure no file was left behind. 4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed. e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually. 5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as necessary. 6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h. 7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq). * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config. * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig * ia64 SMP allmodconfig * s390 SMP allmodconfig * alpha SMP allmodconfig * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig 8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as a separate patch and serve as bisection point. Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step 6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch. If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of the specific arch. to new_(probed)_subdev The functions v4l2_i2c_new_subdev and v4l2_i2c_new_probed_subdev relied on i2c_get_adapdata to return the v4l2_device. 2009-03-30V4L/DVB (11267): cafe_ccic: Remove buffer type check from XXXbufTrent Piepho1-12/+2
The v4l2-ioctl core only allows buffer types for which the corresponding ->vidioc_try_fmt_xxx() methods are defined to be used with vidioc_(q|dq|query)bufs() and vidioc_reqbufs(). This driver only defines ->vidioc_try_fmt_vid_cap() so only VIDEO_CAPTURE buffers are allowed to be used with cafe_vidioc_reqbufs(), cafe_vidioc_querybuf(), cafe_vidioc_qbuf(), and cafe_vidioc_dqbuf(). The ->vidioc_(s|g|try|enum)_fmt_vid_cap() methods are only called on VIDEO_CAPTURE buffers. Thus, there is no need to check or set the buffer's 'type' field since it must already be set to VIDEO_CAPTURE. So the check in cafe_vidioc_enum_fmt_vid_cap() can be removed. The 'index' field of v4l2_buffer is unsigned so the checks for it being less than zero can be removed too. 2008-10-21V4L/DVB (9327): v4l: use video_device.num instead of minor in video%dHans Verkuil1-2/+2
The kernel number of a v4l2 node (e.g. videoX, radioX or vbiX) is now independent of the minor number. So instead of using the minor field of the video_device struct one has to use the num field: this always contains the kernel number of the device node. I forgot about this when I did the v4l2 core change, so this patch converts all drivers that use it in one go. Luckily the change is trivial. 2008-10-12V4L/DVB (8613): v4l: move BKL down to the driver level.Hans Verkuil1-1/+5
The BKL is now moved from the video_open function in v4l2-dev.c to the various drivers. It seems about a third of the drivers already has a lock of some sort protecting the open(), another third uses video_exclusive_open (yuck!) and the last third required adding the BKL in their open function. 2008-09-04Define and use PCI_DEVICE_ID_MARVELL_88ALP01_CCIC for CAFÉ camera driverDavid Woodhouse1-10/+3
Also, stop looking at the NAND controller (0x4100) and checking the device class. For a while during development, all three functions on the chip had the same ID. We made them fix that fairly promptly, and we can forget about it now. Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <David.Woodhouse@intel.com> Acked-by: Jonathan Corbet <corbet@lwn.net>
2008-07-27V4L/DVB (8523): v4l2-dev: remove unused type and type2 field from video_deviceHans Verkuil1-2/+0
The type and type2 fields were unused and so could be removed. Instead add a vfl_type field that contains the type of the video device. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2008-07-26V4L/DVB (8482): videodev: move all ioctl callbacks to a new v4l2_ioctl_ops ↵Hans Verkuil1-11/+14
struct All ioctl callbacks are now stored in a new v4l2_ioctl_ops struct. Drivers fill in a const struct v4l2_ioctl_ops and video_device just contains a const pointer to it. This ensures a clean separation between the const ops struct and the non-const video_device struct. 2008-07-23V4L/DVB (8430): videodev: move some functions from v4l2-dev.h to ↵Hans Verkuil1-0/+1
v4l2-common.h or v4l2-ioctl.h The functions in a header should not belong to another module. The prio functions belong to v4l2-common.c, so move them to v4l2-common.h. The ioctl functions belong to v4l2-ioctl.c, so create a new v4l2-ioctl.h header and move those functions to it. 2008-07-23V4L/DVB (8428): videodev: rename 'dev' to 'parent'Hans Verkuil1-1/+1
