2014-12-15Merge branch 'drm-next' of git://people.freedesktop.org/~airlied/linuxLinus Torvalds5-0/+167
Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie: "Highlights: - AMD KFD driver merge This is the AMD HSA interface for exposing a lowlevel interface for GPGPU use. They have an open source userspace built on top of this interface, and the code looks as good as it was going to get out of tree. - Initial atomic modesetting work The need for an atomic modesetting interface to allow userspace to try and send a complete set of modesetting state to the driver has arisen, and been suffering from neglect this past year. No more, the start of the common code and changes for msm driver to use it are in this tree. Ongoing work to get the userspace ioctl finished and the code clean will probably wait until next kernel. - DisplayID 1.3 and tiled monitor exposed to userspace. Tiled monitor property is now exposed for userspace to make use of. - Rockchip drm driver merged. - imx gpu driver moved out of staging Other stuff: - core: panel - MIPI DSI + new panels. expose suggested x/y properties for virtual GPUs - i915: Initial Skylake (SKL) support gen3/4 reset work start of dri1/ums removal infoframe tracking fixes for lots of things. - nouveau: tegra k1 voltage support GM204 modesetting support GT21x memory reclocking work - radeon: CI dpm fixes GPUVM improvements Initial DPM fan control - rcar-du: HDMI support added removed some support for old boards slave encoder driver for Analog Devices adv7511 - exynos: Exynos4415 SoC support - msm: a4xx gpu support atomic helper conversion - tegra: iommu support universal plane support ganged-mode DSI support - sti: HDMI i2c improvements - vmwgfx: some late fixes. - qxl: use suggested x/y properties" * 'drm-next' of git://people.freedesktop.org/~airlied/linux: (969 commits) drm: sti: fix module compilation issue drm/i915: save/restore GMBUS freq across suspend/resume on gen4 drm: sti: correctly cleanup CRTC and planes drm: sti: add HQVDP plane drm: sti: add cursor plane drm: sti: enable auxiliary CRTC drm: sti: fix delay in VTG programming drm: sti: prepare sti_tvout to support auxiliary crtc drm: sti: use drm_crtc_vblank_{on/off} instead of drm_vblank_{on/off} drm: sti: fix hdmi avi infoframe drm: sti: remove event lock while disabling vblank drm: sti: simplify gdp code drm: sti: clear all mixer control drm: sti: remove gpio for HDMI hot plug detection drm: sti: allow to change hdmi ddc i2c adapter drm/doc: Document drm_add_modes_noedid() usage drm/i915: Remove '& 0xffff' from the mask given to WA_REG() drm/i915: Invert the mask and val arguments in wa_add() and WA_REG() drm: Zero out DRM object memory upon cleanup drm/i915/bdw: Fix the write setting up the WIZ hashing mode ...

2014-11-14dt-bindings: simplefb: Specify node location and handoff related propertiesHans de Goede1-1/+57
Since simplefb nodes do not relate directly to hw typically they have been placed in the root of the devicetree. As the represent runtime information having them as sub-nodes of /chosen is more logical, specify this. Also specify when to set the chosen stdout-path property to a simplefb node. For reliable handover to a hardware specific driver, that driver needs to know which simplefb to unregister when taking over, specify how the hw driver can find the matching simplefb node. Last add some advice on how to fill and use simplefb nodes from a firmware pov. 2014-09-03video: fix composite video connector compatible stringTomi Valkeinen1-2/+2
The quite-recently-added analog-tv-connector bindings say that the compatible string for composite video connector is "composite-connector". That string is also used in the omap3-n900.dts file. However, the connector driver uses "composite-video-connector", so this has never worked. While changing the driver's compatible string to "composite-connector" would be safer, as published DT bindings should not be changed, I'd rather fix the bindings in this case for two reasons: * composite-connector is a bit too generic name, as it doesn't even hint at video. * it's clear that this has never worked, which means no one has used those bindings, which should make it safe to change this. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Olof Johansson: "This merge window brings a good size of cleanups on various platforms. Among the bigger ones: - Removal of Samsung s5pc100 and s5p64xx platforms. Both of these have lacked active support for quite a while, and after asking around nobody showed interest in keeping them around. If needed, they could be resurrected in the future but it's more likely that we would prefer reintroduction of them as DT and multiplatform-enabled platforms instead. - OMAP4 controller code register define diet. They defined a lot of registers that were never actually used, etc. - Move of some of the Tegra platform code (PMC, APBIO, fuse, powergate) to drivers/soc so it can be shared with 64-bit code. This also converts them over to traditional driver models where possible. - Removal of legacy gpio-samsung driver, since the last users have been removed (moved to pinctrl) Plus a bunch of smaller changes for various platforms that sort of dissapear in the diffstat for the above. clps711x cleanups, shmobile header file refactoring/moves for multiplatform friendliness, some misc cleanups, etc" * tag 'cleanup-for-3.17' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (117 commits) drivers: CCI: Correct use of ! and & video: clcd-versatile: Depend on ARM video: fix up versatile CLCD helper move MAINTAINERS: Add sdhci-st file to ARCH/STI architecture ARM: EXYNOS: Fix build breakge with PM_SLEEP=n MAINTAINERS: Remove Kirkwood ARM: tegra: Convert PMC to a driver soc/tegra: fuse: Set up in early initcall ARM: tegra: Always lock the CPU reset vector ARM: tegra: Setup CPU hotplug in a pure initcall soc/tegra: Implement runtime check for Tegra SoCs soc/tegra: fuse: fix dummy functions soc/tegra: fuse: move APB DMA into Tegra20 fuse driver soc/tegra: Add efuse and apbmisc bindings soc/tegra: Add efuse driver for Tegra ARM: tegra: move fuse exports to soc/tegra/fuse.h ARM: tegra: export apb dma readl/writel ARM: tegra: Use a function to get the chip ID ARM: tegra: Sort includes alphabetically ARM: tegra: Move includes to include/soc/tegra ...

2014-06-02drm/exynos: use regmap interface to set hdmiphy control bit in pmuRahul Sharma1-0/+2
Exynos drm hdmi driver used to get dummy hdmiphy clock to control the PMU bit for hdmiphy. This bit needs to be set before setting any resolution to hdmi hardware. This was handled using dummy hdmiphy clock which is removed here. PMU is already defined as system controller for exynos SoCs. Hdmi driver is modified to control the phy enable bit inside PMU using regmap interfaces. Devicetree binding document for hdmi is also updated. 2014-06-02drm/exynos: dp: support hotplug detection via GPIOAndrew Bresticker1-0/+4
Certain bridge chips use a GPIO to indicate the cable status instead of the I_DP_HPD pin. This adds an optional device-tree property, "samsung,hpd-gpio", to the exynos-dp controller which indicates that the specified GPIO should be used for hotplug detection. The GPIO is then set up as an edge-triggered interrupt where the rising edge indicates hotplug-in and the falling edge indicates hotplug-out.
